In Week 12 of 2018-19 NBA Power Rankings, the Houston Rockets and Indiana Pacers shine as we take a look at New Year’s resolutions for all 30 teams.

It may not be our final edition of NBA Power Rankings for the 2018-19 season, but as the calendar prepares to flip to 2019, New Year’s resolutions are all the rage.

Over the last few weeks, the Indiana Pacers and Houston Rockets (or more specifically, James Harden) have been absolutely on fire, rapidly rising through the ranks. The Pacers have won 11 of their last 13 games, while the Rockets are 9-1 over their last 10 contests.

The Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets hold down the top spot in each conference, with one looking like a legitimate title contender and the other capably weathering a storm of injuries.

But how does the rest of the league shake out? And on this New Year’s Eve, what should each team’s resolution be for 2019?

Like most resolutions, these promises or goals will eventually fade, so for the sake of these power rankings, we’ll limit each team’s resolution to the remainder of the 2018-19 campaign, rather than looking ahead to the draft, free agency and beyond.

We’ll also be trying to avoid general goals like “make the playoffs,” “stay healthy” or “win the championship,” since those apply to most teams. We may not succeed there, but we want to keep these resolutions as team-specific and unique as possible.

Bearing all that in mind, here are NBA Power Rankings for Week 12, with one big New Year’s resolution for all 30 teams.
