Upcoming games to watch

These are the games to watch this week before the NBA’s marquee day of action on Christmas Day. There’s no need to convince readers to watch that slate of games, especially with LeBron James playing his first game against the Golden State Warriors with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Indiana Pacers @ Toronto Raptors — Dec. 19

Two of the top three teams in the Eastern Conference meet in the 6 in a clash of styles. The Toronto Raptors maintain the NBA’s best record and get their first matchup with the Indiana Pacers, a team emerging as a playoff contender.

Milwaukee Bucks @ Boston Celtics — Dec. 21

The first time these teams met on Nov. 1 was a great game won by the Boston Celtics, 117-113. The Milwaukee Bucks took the Celtics to seven games in last season’s first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs and have taken a step forward under new head coach Mike Budenholzer. This matchup features two of the top defenses in the NBA, two of the better coaches in the NBA and a potential preview for another playoff series.
