1. Big-time wins lead to big-time players

No, this is not another delusional Knicks fan implying that Kevin Durant and Kemba Walker are headed to NY. But winning a Christmas Day game against what can only be considered as a contender can only positively affect the image and appeal of the team.

On Christmas, everybody’s watching. To top it all off, the game is on extremely early — so early that NBA fans from all around the world will get the chance to enjoy a clash between these exciting teams.

If a young team performs at a high level in the spotlight, it usually attracts free agent interest. It shows the stars that this solid young core has what it takes to perform under pressure.

Let’s use a very recent example, the one of LeBron James in 2018 and his move to the Los Angeles Lakers. If he so desperately wanted to move to L.A., he could’ve easily joined the Los Angeles Clippers who were already a better team than the Lakers. Instead, he joined the Lake Show, mainly due to the very exciting young core they possess.

It may be a dream that’s far from becoming reality, but the Knicks could have a legitimate chance at landing a top-tier free agent in the summer of 2019. Games like this one are bigger than most people think.
