Minnesota Timberwolves guard Derrick Rose is having an incredible season so far. Here are three reasons he can win both the Most Improved Player and the Sixth Man of the Year award.

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Derrick Rose is looking more and more like his old self as the 2018-19 NBA season carries on. During the summer, Rose signed a one-year, $2.4 million contract with the Wolves with hopes of helping this young team return to the playoffs.

The 2018-19 season hasn’t gone as well as Timberwolves fans would’ve hoped, but it’s far from over. The Jimmy Butler drama was a huge distraction for multiple weeks and it resulted the way most people were expecting — a trade that gave the Wolves 75 cents on the dollar.

Let’s focus on that last one.

Not many NBA teams have a former MVP who is still only 30 years old on their roster. That’s a luxury that is likely to pay dividends for Minnesota as the season continues. In fact, it already has paid dividends for this team.

Here are three reasons why Derrick Rose can win both the Most Improved Player and the Sixth Man of the Year award.
