3. Cleveland Cavaliers
Currently not playing with the team, it is no secret that the Cleveland Cavaliers and J.R. Smith are seeking to move on from each other. A return to New Orleans could be Smith’s next destination.
Bringing in J.R. would give New Orleans another deep threat and undoubtedly someone who isn’t scared to put shots up. With the openness in his availability in the trade market, he should be acquirable at a reasonable price too.
Sending out Solomon Hill for salary sake, along with a second round pick or two, would likely get the deal done. The loss of Hill would mean that New Orleans would probably end up playing Smith or E’Twaun Moore increased minutes at small forward. While it wouldn’t do their defense any favors, this could be a potent offensive lineup for the Pelicans.
