5. Brooklyn Nets

Since arriving to the Brooklyn Nets in the summer of 2017, DeMarre Carroll has seen a decline in playing time, opportunities and production. However, he still has a little left in the tank, as he isn’t too far removed from being a vital role player on a playoff team. Carroll is a capable shooter with potential to help reinforce New Orleans’ defense.

The biggest plus to bringing in Carroll would be handing Solomon Hill’s minutes off to someone else. He would give the Pelicans more scoring versatility. While not necessarily more efficient this year, he at least can put up a moderate box score on a given night and can find his way to the line.

Swapping Hill for Carroll wouldn’t be a huge change-up or move the needle dramatically for New Orleans, but would at least offer them somewhat of an upgrade if he could get back to the 37.1 percent 3-point shooting he posted last year.
