Sacramento Kings: Franchise record breakers
By Adi Brescic
The Sacramento Kings made a leap into the Western Conference playoff picture on Wednesday thanks to a historic night of 3-point shooting.
Coming into the 2018-19 season, I had five predictions for the Sacramento Kings. Some of those prediction are still in progress, while one of them became a reality after they set a new franchise record in 3-point attempts (38) against the Oklahoma City Thunder earlier in the season. They not only tied that record Wednesday night, but also set new ones along the way.
First, the Kings broke both their record for most made 3-point field goals in a game, draining 19 in total. Their previous record of 18 made 3-pointers, which they set in the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons, came to an end against the Minnesota Timberwolves late in the fourth quarter when Nemanja Bjelica buried his fourth 3 of the night.
Bjelica was just one of three Kings players that made four or more 3s on the night. Buddy Hield went 5-for-8 from deep and Yogi Ferrell came in off the bench and knocked down all four of his 3-point attempts. The team shot 6-for-11 from 3 in the third quarter, and 7-for-12 in the fourth. It was just that kind of night for young ball club.

Their 23 3-point attempts in the second half was also a franchise record, breaking their previous record of 22, which they set in 2016 against the Houston Rockets.
Finally, they one-upped their record of most made 3-pointers in a half (12) by drilling 13 triples in the second half. The red-hot shooting resulted in 141 points, their highest-scoring game since 1985, and a massive win that pushed them into eighth place in the Western Conference.
Guys had it going all night and the arena was rocking. If you had to make a list of the best Kings games of the season, this one would rank pretty high up there.
