The holiday season is in full effect with Christmas being less than two weeks away. Here’s a look at three things on the Boston Celtics’ wish list.

The Boston Celtics are currently 17-10, placing them fifth in the Eastern Conference. Sitting at that spot in the playoff race is not a bad thing; there’s a lot of teams that would love to be in the position they’re in. But Boston isn’t built to be seven games above .500 and sitting a spot out of home-court advantage.

The Celtics came into the year with the expectations of being the favorites to win the conference. Last season they went as far as Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. They led the East for the majority of the season, until eventually falling to second place by time the playoffs rolled around.

Things have gotten better as of late, with the Celtics winning their last seven games. This sudden surge has come after the team has inserted Marcus Smart and Marcus Morris in the starting lineup. The two players have given the team a new energy that was clearly missing.

This move may not be the solution long-term, but something needed to be done. The Celtics clearly don’t lack talent, so a lot of these early season struggles were rather head-scratching. They’re not out of the clear until this team performs consistently for a longer period of time, however.

Boston has suffered quite a bit of injuries this season and it’s something that may plague the team if the two Marcuses run out of fuel. With the holiday season in full affect and many Christmas wish lists being created, it’s time to look at three things that should be on the Celtics’ list right now.
