Counting down 14 Christmas wishes for the Cleveland Cavaliers

7. Rodney Hood scores more
The Cleveland Cavaliers have been waiting for Rodney Hood to step up and embrace his role as one of the team’s best scorers. So far, he has not been able to elevate his game to this level.
As of now, Hood is averaging 13.1 points per game on 43.6 percent shooting from the field and 38.0 percent from the 3-point line. He has shot at an efficient clip, but has failed to score at a high rate.
For the season, Hood has scored above 20 points only four times out of his 22 total appearances. This is disappointing, as he has a wide array of offensive moves and should be able to put up big numbers in this current system. Hood hasn’t looked confident enough in his game and it has affected his numbers.
Hood should focus on becoming a more frequent scorer and look for his shot more often. The Cavaliers have won every game (2-0) in which Hood has scored 25-plus points. He is capable of being an elite scorer and he should attempt to reach this level throughout the rest of the season.
