8. George Hill proves his worth

At 32 years old, George Hill is currently the second-oldest player on the team, behind only Channing Frye (35). This makes Hill one of the most important veteran leaders on the Cleveland Cavaliers. The fact that the team happens to have a 19-year-old rookie point guard only emphasizes how crucial Hill is to the franchise right now.

However, Hill is more than just a mentor. Before his earlier injury left him sidelined for 12 games, George was averaging 12.2 points and 2.8 assists per game. His experience on the court showed, as he was capable of controlling the tempo of the game and directing the Cavaliers’ offense.

His shooting splits of 51.4 percent from the field, 46.4 from the 3-point line and 85.0 percent from the free throw line make him one of the most reliable shooters on the team.

The Cavaliers will be hoping for three things from George Hill. One, he needs to get healthy and become playable. Next, Hill will have to continue to shoot at an efficient rate and be a floor general when he is on the court. Lastly, he will need to become a mentor to Sexton and help speed up the young bulls development process.

In the event that Hill fails to accomplish all three of these goals, his presence on the team will become questionable. It is possible that the Cavaliers would decide to trade him in exchange for young assets.
