10. J.R Smith finds a new home

It seems as if J.R Smith’s time as a Cleveland Cavalier has come to an end. Smith told reporter Jordan Heck that he wishes to be traded away from the organization. Since then, Smith has not appeared in a game for the Cavaliers and is awaiting his trade.

Smith has played in five seasons for the Cavs and was a member of the historic 2016 championship team that ended the title drought in Cleveland. He’s averaged 9.8 points and 2.8 rebounds for his career in the Land, and is fifth on the franchise’s all-time 3-point list. Smith also holds the franchise record for 3-pointers in a single season and a single playoff game.

The best Christmas wish for Smith would be for him to find a suitable home in whatever team he is traded to. Hopefully, the Cavaliers manage to handle this situation with care and receive a decent package in return.

J.R Smith will always be a fan favorite in Cleveland and his wish to be traded away is understandable. The best-case scenario for both teams would involve Smith landing on a championship contending team while the Cavaliers receive young assets or draft picks in exchange.
