Counting down 14 Christmas wishes for the Cleveland Cavaliers

11. Larry Nance Jr. becomes a better shot-blocker and rebounder
Larry Nance Jr. is for sure one of the crowd favorites and he recently signed a multi-year extension with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but is he worth the long-term commitment?
Nance is playing in his second season with the Cavaliers, averaging 7.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game while shooting 50.4 percent from the field. He plays an average of 23.1 minutes per game and is the team’s third-leading rebounder.
His 37.5-inch max vertical, matched with his seven-foot wingspan, makes him the best rim protector on the team. Despite being gifted athletically, his talent for blocking shots is obviously unpolished, as he averages just 0.5 blocks per game for his career.
If Nance has any goal for himself it should be to become a better shot blocker and rebounder. He is too tall and athletic to be averaging under one block per game. Furthermore, he should be able to rack up more rebounds if he can become more talented at boxing out opponents.
At 26 years of age, Nance still has time to improve these areas of his game. It seems as if he will be a long-term member of the Cavaliers, so hopefully he will continue to work hard as the team grows.
