Counting down 14 Christmas wishes for the Cleveland Cavaliers

12. Sam Dekker develops a standout skill
Sam Dekker has not had much of an impact for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was traded to the team on Aug. 7, and has appeared in only nine games thus far.
The Cavaliers hoped that Dekker could become a reliable forward that could switch on defense and open up the offense with his playmaking ability. His current averages of 6.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game have not been bad, but are largely underwhelming. However, he is shooting 45.8 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from the 3-point line, which is a bright spot in his game.
Dekker still has potential to be a solid contributor to the team. He has the raw skill-set of a player that can affect the game in multiple ways. His size and talent make him capable of doing it all, which is something that is more important than ever in today’s NBA.
The main goal for Dekker should be continuing to work at his craft and perfect something. As of now, he is just a guy who’s average at a few different things. He needs to find his identity as a player and use that to his advantage.
