2. Collin Sexton, Cleveland Cavaliers

Last week: 4th (↑2)

Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Collin Sexton is finding his stride as the second month of the season comes to a close. He’s shooting 48.7 percent from the floor and averaging 21.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game over the last four games for Cleveland.

Sexton put up the first double-double of his career with 21 points and 10 rebounds against the Oklahoma City Thunder and fellow point guard Russell Westbrook on Wednesday night, although they came in a loss.

On the first night of a back-to-back set last Friday, he produced 23 points on 10-of-18 shooting in a victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. The next night, he scored a season-high 29 points on 14-of-21 shooting against the Houston Rockets in another victory.

Cleveland may be tanking with its current record of 4-16 but the development of Collin Sexton has been interesting to watch. He’s emerged as a star in the making after being selected eighth overall in the 2018 NBA Draft.

Now, he has his eyes set on being the best rookie in this year’s class. His assists numbers are still coming along, as he’s dishing out just 2.5 assists per game, but as a pure scorer, he’s been unstoppable.
