Seemingly stuck in no man’s land in his current situation, here are three potential landing spots the Philadelphia 76ers should consider for Markelle Fultz.

On a recent episode of the Dunc’d On podcast, host Nate Duncan detailed his thoughts about the current predicament facing the Philadelphia 76ers and Markelle Fultz:

"“Philly is probably the absolute worst fit of any team in the entire league….with Ben Simmons, and now they’ve got [Jimmy] Butler, another guy who needs the ball in his hands, and you’ve got a guy [Joel Embiid] who likes to post up as well….it’s just a complete disaster.”"

As Duncan alluded to, the recent acquisition of All-Star Jimmy Butler has placed both Fultz and the Sixers in a very difficult situation. Having started the first 15 games of the season, Fultz has now reverted to a bench role with the arrival of Butler. While he was hardly setting the world on fire as  a starter, the presence of another ball-handler and shot creator now leaves very little room for the former No. 1 overall pick to be able to showcase his skills and develop in a meaningful manner.

If everything goes according to plan, and the Sixers extend Butler’s contract next summer, and Simmons the following year, it’s very difficult to ascertain just where Fultz fits in the grand scheme of things.

Considering he is still just 20 years of age, and with seemingly an enormous scope for improvement, cashing in now and dealing Fultz to a franchise that may be willing to take a chance on a flawed but sublimely talented young point guard may be the most sensible line of thinking from the Sixers’ front office.

With this in mind, here are three prime landing spots should the Sixers decide to part ways with their second-year guard.
