The Los Angeles Clippers have been historically overshadowed by their hometown rivals. Post-Lob City, it seems the Clippers have found an identity that is comprised of players thriving in new roles.

Despite being established in 1970, the Los Angeles Clippers have only made the playoffs a grand total of 11 times. There’s been a multitude of notable names throughout the franchise’s history, from Bob McAdoo to Danny Manning to Chris Paul, among many others.

Aside from the Lob City era teams, however, the Clippers haven’t historically been able to find a consistent identity for themselves. With an impressive 10-5 record, the 2018-19 Clips sit at third in the Western Conference standings and have already beaten a multitude of top-tier teams.

Despite having no true All-Star, this team has exemplified what true teamwork and depth looks like. More importantly, the Los Angeles Clippers have assembled a roster of multiple players that have often been overlooked throughout their careers and have given them a chance. In a big market like L.A, they’re finally getting some attention.

This has led to some serious early season success and some of the most exciting basketball Clippers fans have seen in years. Because these guys have been overlooked most of their careers, they’re used to sharing the spotlight and have really put the team first thus far.

Although quite a few players definitely fit into this category and a solid coaching/depth combination also factor into the recent success, here are three in particular who have contributed to success for this team in ways many people previously never thought they could.
