Golden State Warriors superstars Kevin Durant and Draymond Green exchanged words earlier this week. Let’s explore the situation — and the NBA’s love of beef.

The overtime thriller wasn’t the Golden State Warriors‘ only loss Monday. The Dubs lost Draymond Green to an internal one-game suspension, and the miraculous temperament that keeps the squad so calm and close. Some believe Golden State also lost Kevin Durant to free agency after Monday’s saga.

How often are the Warriors in the news for chemistry issues? It’s been a while, hasn’t it?

Veteran guard Shaun Livingston was quick to downplay the situation. Here’s what he said, per Mark Medina of the The Mercury News:

"“It’s just team spirit. Team spirit,” said Livingston. “Guys wanted a different outcome than what happened. Obviously Dray had a turnover, guys might have thought they were open and wanted the basketball and didn’t get it. Things happen like that.”"

On Thursday, Green returned from his suspension to the tune of a 107-86 loss to the Houston Rockets. The game wasn’t pretty, but life is returning to normal. Let’s dive into this exchange and examine all factors involved.
