3. He looks like a starter
It’s okay for your star rookie to begin his career off the bench. Marvin Bagley III is doing it with the Sacramento Kings. For some reason, Julius Randle is still doing it in the fifth year in the league.
Still, it’s nice seeing a rook flourish in the main five like Sexton has done in four starts. In his last three games in particular, the Cavaliers outscored opponents by 20 points with him on the floor. As a starter he’s averaged 18.8 points per game, shooting a very respectable 48.4 percent from the field while locking up two All-Star point guards.
For those keeping score, Sexton has actually looked better in the early going of his rookie year than Kyrie Irving did.

I know, I know. It’s only four games.
Sexton scored just five points with two assists in a quiet final game game coming off of the bench as the Cavs fell to the Orlando Magic on Nov. 5. Clearly, it seems like he is more comfortable beginning the game on the floor.
During his tryout to join the first team, Sexton flourished. He reminded Cavs fans why they drafted him in the first round. He gave them a nibble of his potential.
