Tyson Chandler spurned Warriors to join Lakers

I don’t think anyone could have predicted how big of an impact Tyson Chandler would immediately have for the Lakers.

Since signing with the team less than two weeks ago, he’s played a big part in two clutch wins. In his Lakers debut, he made a number of key tap-outs to put the game away in the closing seconds. In Game 2, he came up with a last-second block on Trae Young as time expired to seal the victory.

Put simply, he’s been a ringer of sorts for Los Angeles. The Lakers have played four games since he was signed, and all have resulted in Ws. Although he doesn’t deserve all of the credit for the sudden turnaround, it’s safe to say Chandler’s presence has made a noticeable impact.

And just imagine — Chandler had other options when the Phoenix Suns bought him out.

Instead of taking the easy route to a ring, though, Chandler joined the King in Los Angeles, not too far from his birthplace of Hanford. It not only says something about what Magic is building, but also about the pull LeBron has when it comes to luring veterans to the Lakers. The Golden State Warriors’ current internal bleeding probably doesn’t help either.

Could this be a sign of things to come in the Western Conference? Maybe…
