After missing out in the Jimmy Butler sweepstakes, here are three intriguing trade propositions to consider for the Miami Heat.

At 5-8, the Miami Heat are by no means in a state of panic. However, following some disappointing early season losses, and with some key personnel still on the sidelines, getting back above .500 is ultimately the main goal in the short-term.

Just recently, team president Pat Riley expressed his thoughts on the current state of the roster:

"“We’ve got six guys that have been here for four years and we’ve got the rest of the guys for at least three years. That’s more than enough time to get your act together as a team. So, there should not be any chemistry issues or continuity issues. Players have gotten better, their development skills have gone through the roof. How much better they can get, I think will be determined by how much more work they want to put into it.”"

Aside from their inconsistent play, the other main storyline surrounding the Heat in the early going has been their pursuit of Jimmy Butler. However, with the All-Star now headed to the Philadelphia 76ers, the Heat will need to look elsewhere if they are still determined to improve their roster.

Regarding the Heat potentially looking at deals elsewhere in the immediate future, Riley noted:

"“I’m not looking, I’m listening and [general manager Andy Elisburg] and I are … we’ve been doing this all the time. We’re not actively pursuing anything, we’re listening. But you have to be part of what’s going on in the conversation in the NBA, and there’s a lot of hypotheticals from that standpoint.”"

Unfortunately for Riley and the Heat, the makeup of the roster and the contracts accompanying these players means it’s going to take some serious creativity on the part of the Heat front office to get a worthwhile deal done.

With this in mind, here are three potential deals the Heat could explore in the coming months.
