Best rebounder in Chicago Bulls: Dennis Rodman

This was a tricky one. If you really wanted to, you could make a case for Michael Jordan as the best Chicago Bulls rebounder of all-time. After all, he holds the franchises all-time records for career total and defensive rebounds. Plus, you can’t go wrong picking the GOAT for any list, right? Well, in this case, “The Worm” gets the nod over “MJ”.

Younger fans probably see Dennis Rodman now as the crazy guy that hangs out with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un, but in his day, he was one of the best defensive players in the league. As something of a precursor to Draymond Green, Rodman could defend multiple positions on the floor. His defining trait however, was his ability to crash the boards.

Despite his relatively small stature — he was a 6-foot-7 power forward — Rodman was the best rebounder in the league during his peak, as he led the NBA in rebounding for seven consecutive seasons between 1991 and 1998.

Three of those seasons came with the Chicago Bulls. Rodman was traded to Chicago after a, uh, tumultuous two seasons with the San Antonio Spurs. It worked out for Rodman, as he played a big role in the Bulls second three-peat. His efforts placed ultimately placed him atop the franchise leaderboards for rebounds per game and offensive, defensive and total rebounding percentage.

Rodman will probably be remembered more for his antics than his play on the floor, but it would be foolish to ignore his contributions as a rebounder and a defender.
