Los Angeles Clippers: How the front office vastly improved team viability
By Aymin Bakr
The Los Angeles Clippers weren’t expected to be a high-level team for a while after the end of the Lob City era. While they’re not elite just yet, they’ve made some great moves that have positive implications for the future and have bounced back fairly well.
The Los Angeles Clippers aren’t the most decorated NBA team to say the very least. Despite 48 years as a recognized franchise, they have made the playoffs a collective total of just 11 times.
Five of those appearances came from the exciting Lob City era that featured All-Star caliber talents such as Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan.
Although the big three made the playoffs all five of their seasons together, they were never able to make a deep push never even reaching the conference finals. While it wasn’t necessarily a failed experiment, fans were certainly disappointed that the team didn’t live up to its full potential.
However, soon after its fall, a new era of exciting Clippers basketball seems to be on the rise thanks to some smart moves from the team’s front office.
Here are some of the best recent offseason moves, how they’ve positively impacted the franchise and what’s to potentially come in the future.
