5. 2010-17 road jersey

While the Timberwolves have never been the most illustrious organization in the NBA, this jersey seeing six consecutive lottery appearances hurts its overall historical appeal. Kevin Love was the only player during this Timberwolves era to make the All-Star Game.

Ricky Rubio still holds a special place in Wolves’ fans’ hearts and Nikola Pekovic was a fan favorite too, but neither ended up having much of an impact on the team’s win-loss record over the years. Ditto for youngins’ Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns, who only played three and two seasons in these uniforms, respectively. Both will likely be remembered by Wolves fans in the current Nike jerseys.

For the 2010-17 jerseys collectively, it’s a choice between the home whites and the road blues. The black sleeved jersey introduced in 2013 reeks of desperation for a franchise that had been an also-ran for nearly a decade at that point. The NBA’s sleeve-mania as a whole was a failure, rightly recognized by Nike dropping sleeves entirely when they took over the league’s apparel.

Despite being the first jerseys in franchise history to not feature any green, these were solid overall, and admittedly improved upon the 2008-10 duds by simplifying the color scheme.

The road uniform’s shade of blue is magnificent and both the lettering’s font and color always made the jersey pleasant to look at on the whole. Without any real franchise insignia on the home whites (the black “pine trees” look silly there), the blues get the nod from me.
