Houston Rockets: 3 takeaways from slow start
1. The Rockets must get healthy
Houston may currently stand among the league’s worst teams at the present moment. However, one could argue that the Rockets are presently a work in progress, as they have yet to experience the luxury of having their entire rotation in uniform through the first six games.
James Harden and James Ennis have both been out of action over the last week with hamstring injuries, while Chris Paul missed two consecutive games due to a suspension.
Although Paul has already made his official return back to the starting lineup, Houston has continued to struggle mightily over the last couple of games. The team’s offense has appeared to look completely out of sync without the reigning MVP in the fold.
Over the last two games with CP3 back but Harden sidelined, the Rockets’ offense has managed just 99 points per game and shot just 35.6 percent from the field.
Should the Rockets seek to accomplish their ultimate goal at the end of the season, there is no question they will need all hands on deck to make a deep playoff run. Injuries could be the sole factor that hampers Houston’s championship quest before it even begins.
