1. Stephen Curry

While everyone’s preseason MVP predictions revolved around Anthony Davis, Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James, Stephen Curry has come out these first two weeks looking better than ever — and that’s saying something for the two-time MVP.

Yes, he plays with Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. Yes, voter fatigue and people being sick of the Golden State Warriors could hurt him come voting season. But as of right now, he’s been absolutely dominant in a way that’s somehow a new and refreshing brand of terrifying.

Curry is averaging a league-leading 33.0 points, 5.9 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game, but its his unparalleled efficiency that should be grabbing people’s attention. Taking a whopping 11.6 3-pointers a night, Steph is knocking down 52.9 percent of them. He’s shooting 54.9 percent from the floor, 91.3 percent from the foul line and is on pace to shatter his previous single-season 3-point record by nearly 100.

Considering he’s currently carving a spot out in the unheard-of 50-50-90 club, leading the league in scoring and serving as the best player on an 8-1 Dubs team, the fact that Stephen Curry has already won this award twice doesn’t change the fact that through the first two weeks of the season, he’s the early MVP frontrunner.
