The New York Knicks have started their 2018-19 season without their leader, Kristaps Porzingis and things aren’t looking too pretty.

It was pretty much expected that the New York Knicks would not be an alpha-dog in this year’s Eastern Conference, but after a stretch that included five consecutive losses, the team is looking like one of the worst teams in the entire NBA.

With a superstar in Kristaps Porzingis currently recovering from his torn ACL injury, these young Knicks aren’t looking too bad for the future years. But right now, the Knicks seem to be stuck in mediocrity.

Even though no official timetable has been released yet regarding The Unicorn’s return to the court, it is believed that a return around the time of the All-Star break would be suitable for him.

However, is it something that the organization should rush? Or would they be better off tanking the whole season while sitting out their seven-foot star?

Even though a record of 2-5 shows they’re a bottom-tier team, it’d be insane to say the Knicks have played poorly thus far. With a surprising star emerging out of nowhere in Tim Hardaway Jr., and a hungry Enes Kanter, New York is not necessarily the kind of team that would only win 20 games when it’s all said and done.

Still, here are three reasons why tanking would be the best thing possible for the New York Knicks to do throughout the entire 2018-19 campaign.
