Immediately following his habitual thrashing of Los Angeles’ less glamorous franchise, the Charlotte Hornets came to town. Stephen Curry loves playing his howetown team and had hit them with the quickest three 3s of his career (2:03 into the game) in this one.

He had six 3s after the first quarter, eight at halftime, and capped off the third quarter by drilling three more — the last a 29-footer.

This was the only time in Curry’s career that he reached 11 3s in three quarters until the Washington game that inspired this piece. It also remains the most efficient of Curry’s fourth-quarter rest games (11-for-15, 73.3 percent).

Given that he was as locked in at the end of his night as he was at the beginning, it’s hard to fathom him not getting to at least 13. When you factor in his desire to put on a show against Charlotte, 14 seems more likely.
