Trade No. 2

Opposing centers have felt no resistance in the paint thus far this season. The Cavaliers severely lack size and struggle to contest shots against taller players.

Adding size to the Cleveland Cavaliers roster is something that can do wonders for the team. Simply having a big body in the paint can often be enough to deter opponents from finishing layups.

Gorgui Dieng stands at 6’11” and weighs 245 pounds. This increase in size can help the Cavaliers hold down the painted area and contend with taller lineups. Trading away an undersized Tristan Thompson in return for Dieng may be the fix that the Cavaliers need.

Furthermore, Thompson is a player that could potentially thrive with Minnesota. His scrappy play style would be very appealing to head coach Tom Thibodeau, who is notorious for wanting players to hustle and work hard. Thompson fits this style nicely.
