Trade No. 5

The biggest problem with the Cleveland Cavaliers has been their interior defense. With no real rim protector, there is nothing standing in the way to stop opponents from scoring in the paint. Combine this with lackluster perimeter play and it has been a superhighway to the rim for opposing players.

Finding a player that can clog up the paint and anchor the defense should be a huge goal. Bismack Biyombo is the perfect fit for this team. While Biyombo may be under 7’0″, his strength and athleticism make him a great shot-blocker. Furthermore, his huge wingspan allows him to reach shots that other players couldn’t.

Giving up Tristan Thompson wouldn’t hurt the Cavaliers too much. While he may be a fan favorite and is a hustle rebounder, Biyombo would provide more worth to the team. He is a far better rim protector and arguably just as good of a rebounder.
