Chicago Bulls forward Bobby Portis went down with an MCL injury during the team’s 112-110 recent win over the Charlotte Hornets. Here are the biggest takeaways from this recent development.

After dropping their first three games for the second straight season, the Chicago Bulls finally broke into the win column with a 112-110 victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Oct. 24. Unfortunately for the Bulls, that once-elusive first win came at a cost.

Bobby Portis — who was coming off a career campaign in 2017-18 — went down with an MCL injury in the fourth quarter of that contest. Being that he was able to leave the court under his own power, albeit gingerly, the organization as well as the fans, were hoping for the best.

It didn’t happen.

For the second time in as many games, the team had to endure the news about another injury to a key rotational player.

Needless to say, this was the last thing Chicago needed as the team entered the second year of its rebuild with hopes of contending for a playoff berth. What does this mean for the Bulls and Portis moving forward?

How will head coach Fred Hoiberg adjust the lineup with yet another player out for a significant amount of time? Here’s a look at the biggest takeaways from this latest news.
