Loser: Dennis Schroder

Schroder waited three years with the Hawks sitting behind All-Star point guard Jeff Teague for his shot at being a starter.

He finally got the job and did it well for two years — leading Atlanta to the playoffs once — before the franchise found a shiny new toy named Trae Young and traded Schroder to the Thunder, where he’s again backing up an All-Star point guard.

This time, however, that starter is Russell Westbrook, and he’s not going anywhere anytime soon. Schroder, meanwhile, is under contract for the next three years. He might have to get used to coming off the bench, but at least for the first couple games of this season, he was able to start while Westbrook was recovering from an injury.

Schroder didn’t impress in that time. The Thunder dropped both games — expected against the Golden State Warriors, not so much against the Los Angeles Clippers — and fell to 0-3 when Westbrook returned and Schroder came off the bench in a loss to the Sacramento Kings.

Schroder is shooting 28 percent from the field and 28.6 percent from 3-point range, averaging 14.3 points and 7.3 assists per game. On top of that, he’s getting clowned on social media for his hair.
