Chicago Bulls point guard Kris Dunn will be out of the lineup for approximately 4-6 weeks due to an MCL sprain. Here’s a look at the biggest takeaways from this recent development.

The Chicago Bulls came into Year 2 of their rebuild hoping to improve upon the 27-game win total from 2017-18. Unfortunately, that has proven to be a difficult task, to say the least.

For starters, the team has yet to win a game this season, with the most recent defeat taking place in a 115-109 road loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Oct. 22. Not only that, but it is the second straight season in which Chicago has started 0-3.

One of the positives going into that contest was the return of third-year point guard Kris Dunn, who had missed the first two games of the season for personal reasons.

In his 2018-19 debut, Dunn was a bit rusty, finishing with nine points on 4-for-13 shooting and 1-for-4 from deep to go along with seven assists and four rebounds. But if Bulls fans thought that his somewhat shaky return would be cause for concern, there would be another notable tidbit from this contest that warrants discussion.

As it turns out, Dunn suffered an MCL sprain and will be out of the lineup for approximately 4-6 weeks.

According to the K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune, head coach Fred Hoiberg stated that Dunn suffered the injury during the second quarter, but was well enough to finish the game. Being that the Bulls are already 0-3, this is the last thing they needed.

With that being said, here are the biggest takeaways from this recent development.
