3. Kyle Lowry‘s role

Kyle Lowry is used to being top fiddle in Toronto; he carved out that role for himself the season he arrived north of the border. When Kawhi Leonard entered the fold, however, it became clear Lowry’s pride would have to take a hit for the betterment of the team.

Despite the Leonard’s hot start to the year, Lowry still seems to be the team’s top banana. Just look at their Player Efficiency Ratings: Lowry leads the team at 27.8, while Leonard is tied for a distant second at 19.1.

Lowry has been aided by an unreal start from beyond the arc. Through three games, he’s averaging four 3-point makes per game. That’s been good for 60 percent shooting from 3-point range. Even Stephen Curry wouldn’t be able to stifle a chuckle if asked whether or not that hot start is sustainable.

Lowry is still a key contributor to the Raptors and one of the better sidekicks in the NBA. Toronto would have no chance at postseason glory without him. Sooner or later though, it’s going to become apparent that this is Leonard’s team, at least for this season.
