A 1-2 record is how the Sacramento Kings will finish out their week. Despite having more losses than wins, the takeaways show more positives than negatives.

The Sacramento Kings have concluded their first week of the 2018-19 NBA season. After going up against three Western Conference powerhouses to open their schedule, the Kings are 1-2, picking up an admirable win on the road against the Oklahoma City Thunder in a 131-120 finish.

It was expected coming into the season that the Kings would be a bad basketball team. It sounds harsh, but it’s the truth. This isn’t a team that will be competing for a playoff spot. They won’t even compete for a lottery pick, because their 2019 pick will go to either the Philadelphia 76ers or Boston Celtics, depending on where the Kings finish in the draft lottery.

But, that doesn’t mean the Kings can’t still put together a promising season of good, entertaining basketball. So far, they’ve delivered.

Through three games, here’s what has stood out in regards to the team’s production and performance.
