Even in defeat, the Sacramento Kings gave fans many reasons for optimism in their 2018-19 season opener against the Utah Jazz.

Sacramento Kings fans shouldn’t get carried away after having watched the first game of the 2018-19 season, but they should feel better about what’s to come. That’s because the Kings’ first game included a variety of strong individual performances, a cohesiveness which hasn’t been seen in Sacramento in quite some time and improvements in various areas.

The Kings came in as the heavy underdogs in their home opener against the Utah Jazz Wednesday night, but this young team refused to go away quietly.

If the Kings can continue to give a similar effort for the rest of the season, they can become a much better team than many people expected. Even if the Kings don’t win many games this season, fans can feel about the future if this team continues to give maximum effort.

While there were many positive takeaways from the Kings’ first game, here are three that stand out the most.
