Bam Adebayo has the potential to be the Miami Heat’s franchise cornerstone. He can tap into that potential by reaching these goals the 2018-19 season.

With fans and the media caught up in the rookie sensations Donovan Mitchell, Ben Simmons and Jayson Tatum last year, many overlooked the 14th pick of the 2017 NBA Draft. Still, Bam Adebayo put together a respectable rookie season for the Miami Heat, as he was a key bench contributor for a playoff team.

Adebayo put up respectable numbers given his playing time, averaging 6.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.6 blocks and 0.5 steals in 19.8 minutes per game. These stats, along with fantastic athleticism, a good-looking jump shot and sensational alley-oop catching, indicate that Adebayo could become a very well-rounded player. He can become a multi-faceted scorer and a versatile defender.

As the youngest player on the roster, Adebayo is a key piece of the Heat’s future. Aside from him and possibly Justise Winslow and Josh Richardson, everyone else on the Heat’s roster has reached their peak as players. Bam is the man Miami will have to rely on the most to improve significantly. While his improvement probably won’t push Miami into contention for the Eastern Conference, he can crack the starting lineup and establish himself as the Heat’s best young player.

Here are three goals Adebayo should shoot for in the 2018-19 NBA season.
