The Los Angeles Clippers took on the Denver Nuggets in their 2018-19 season opener in a clash of two teams looking to find their way back to the playoffs.

The Los Angeles Clippers lost to the Denver Nuggets in their 20118-19 season opener, 107-98, in what was often a sloppy and disjointed game.

The game went back and fourth with both teams struggling to find their rhythm at times. For the Clippers, their second unit helped make up for the struggles of their starters as Lou Williams, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Boban Marjanovic all helped the Clippers stay in the game.

After cutting the Nuggets’ lead to one at the end of the third quarter, Los Angeles didn’t show the composure necessary to win the game. The team inexplicably failed to find Tobias Harris, who was clearly their most productive starter on the night with 19 points and 10 rebounds.

Avery Bradley showed life in the third quarter, scoring all eight of his points on the night in that period, but he failed to make an impact during the game’s final frame.

The game came down to the Nuggets being able to generate quality shots down the stretch, while the Clippers grew stagnant. Both teams finished last season on the outside of the playoff picture, and at the start of this season it seems like the Nuggets have a better idea of who they are as a team.

Here’s a look at the three takeaways from the Clippers opening night loss.
