New York Knicks: 3 questions still left unanswered
2. Who starts at point guard?
Probably the one position that is up for grabs is the starting point guard spot. With Frank Ntilikina and Trey Burke being the favorites for the spot, who will coach Fizdale choose to be the man in charge?
Emmanuel Mudiay is almost certain to receive some playing time, but it is highly likely that he will be given the starting point guard role.
Frank Ntilikina was the eighth overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft and is coming off a pretty quiet rookie year. Last season, he averaged 5.9 points and 3.2 assists in 21.9 minutes of playing time. Though he did not make any All-Rookie teams, his defense seems to be something coach Fizdale focuses on and it could grant him the starting spot as he continues to evolve.
On the other hand, Burke is coming off an incredible last third of a season where he proved to be one of the most pleasant and unexpected surprises of the season. After averaging 12.8 points and 4.8 assists in just 21.8 minutes per game, Burke might have found the place where his career is taken to a whole other level.
Figuring out who the starting point guard will be for the New York Knicks is certain to be a head-scratcher for David Fizdale. So who will it be? The offensive explosiveness of Burke or the lockdown defense of Ntilikina?
