Before the 2018-19 NBA season officially got underway, 45 Hoops Habit writers cast their votes for awards predictions and the eight playoff teams in each conference.

The 2018-19 NBA season got underway Tuesday night, with the Boston Celtics thumping the Philadelphia 76ers and the Golden State Warriors taking care of business against the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder.

Before the new campaign tipped off, however, 45 staff writers from Hoops Habit cast their votes with predictions for the eight teams that would ultimately make the playoffs in each conference, along with projections for the winner of each major NBA award.

From Coach of the Year to Most Improved Player the MVP, there was a wide range of candidates to choose from in each category. Likewise, the Western Conference playoff picture is nearly impossible to sort through, even if the Eastern Conference is a little more cut and dry.

So who did the vast majority of our staff vote for in each category? In order to sort it out, here’s a look at predictions for each category from yours truly, along with a look at which candidates were favored by the Hoops Habit team as a whole. Without further ado, here are our predictions for the 2018-19 NBA awards and playoff seeds.
