2. Finish the season with 25 starts

It’s no secret the Atlanta Hawks are looking to gather as many ping pong balls as they can for the 2019 NBA Draft. The allure of landing one of Duke’s Zion Williamson, Cam Reddish or R.J. Barrett and adding them to Atlanta’s nucleus has already caught the eye of most Hawks fans.

As such, the Hawks will be looking to turn over the roster. One player seen as a trade piece is Kent Bazemore. After four great seasons (and one massive new deal in 2016) in Atlanta, the 28-year-old seems like a prime trade candidate for a team looking to shore up their wing rotation and could net Atlanta a first round pick if the right team is desperate enough.

If Bazemore is moved, that would leave no real competition for Huerter to deal with at the shooting guard spot outside of second-year guard Tyler Dorsey and future Hall-of-Famer Vince Carter.

Getting 20-25 starts for Huerter would allow him to have a leg up on the starting shooting guard position entering the 2019-20 season, and it would also allow him to see playing time alongside fellow rookie Trae Young, giving Hawks fans a glimpse into the team’s future backcourt.
