3. Develop an early season rapport with Trae Young and Jeremy Lin

Probably the most obvious goal of the bunch is for Huerter to develop a nice rapport with point guards Trae Young and Jeremy Lin, which would only help maximize his time on the floor. Both players have different games, which Huerter could use to his advantage.

Alongside Young, Huerter would spend the majority of the time scoring off screens and as a cutter. It’s also interesting to see if Atlanta can develop a strong pick-and-roll combination between Young and Atlanta’s big men. If so, Huerter could be a beneficiary of some open shots as teams attempt to stop Young.

Alongside Lin, there may be a bit more opportunity for Huerter to develop his on-ball skills as a creator. With Lin having a history of playing alongside another creator, there will be chances for Huerter to show off his ability to help navigate Atlanta’s secondary offensive actions.
