Things might be looking down for the San Antonio Spurs right now, but you can never count out a team lead by Gregg Popovich.

The lead-up to the 2018-19 NBA season has been a devastating time for San Antonio Spurs fans. The Spurs once could claim that they had three promising young guards in Lonnie Walker IV, Dejounte Murray and Derrick White, but one by one, they all ended up on the shelf.

The real pity is that the injuries are happening to the youngest players, not necessarily the best ones. With Patty Mills as the only healthy point guard though, it’ll actually be a bad thing if he gets extra minutes, since he’s reaching the age where he should be cutting back on minutes.

Regardless of the point guard situation though, there are still some reasons to be positive about the San Antonio Spurs upcoming season. They might not all be super obvious, and maybe they won’t all come to pass, but there are some distinct possibilities that can give fans some life.

Here are three bold predictions about the upcoming season for the Spurs.
