The New York Knicks wrapped up their 2018-19 preseason with a solid 3-2 record. While wins and losses don’t count for much in exhibition games, it was encouraging to see the team play well for extended stretches and pick up a few victories.
Those victories could be far and few between once the games begin to count. New York is staring down what could be a long season. Plenty of losses are expected to pile up, but if the preseason showed us anything, there will still be a reason to watch games during the regular season.
There are a number of youngsters that will garner attention throughout the season. A different energy is present on the team compared to years in the past. Not only were the players and coaching staff charged up for the preseason games, the fans really got into them as well.
It was a lot of fun to see the newest faces of the organization on the court for the first time. Head coach David Fizdale brings a new attitude on the sideline, while we saw some players make their debut in the orange and blue as well.
There were a lot of positives from the preseason for New York this year. However, there were also some negatives that occurred as well. Before we turn all of our focus toward the regular season, here are five takeaways from the Knicks’ preseason.
