Minnesota Timberwolves: 3 bold predictions for 2018-19 NBA season
After one of the wildest summers in recent memory, the Minnesota Timberwolves will have to find a way to pick up the pieces.
It was supposed to be a season full of hope for the Minnesota Timberwolves. After ending their 13-year playoff drought and despite losing in five games to the Houston Rockets, the Wolves would be a force to reckon with moving forward with a healthy core led by their two All-Stars.
Then, Jimmy Butler happened.
The four-time All-Star requested a trade in mid-September, and since that time he’s spent time away from the team, scalded nearly the entire organization during practice and voiced his feelings on ESPN, all while remaining in the Twin Cities without a deal in sight.
There’s really no telling when or even if Butler’s demands will be met, leaving the organization in a state of perpetual awkwardness in the hopes that a balance can be negotiated.
Now, what was once a bright future has been sullied by this drama. Alas, the season quickly approaches, leaving Minnesota with nothing to do but find a way to move forward in order to build on last season’s success.
