3. Continue to improve as the roll/pop man

One of the areas that Collins excelled at was scoring out of the pick-and-roll, particularly as the screener. Last year, he averaged 1.13 points per possession as the roll man on screens, which put him ahead of the likes of Dwight Howard, DeMarcus Cousins, Marc Gasol and Blake Griffin. While Collins doesn’t have the overall resume that those players do, his athleticism makes him an effective player around the rim.

Collins should have no problems at least maintaining his efficiency on ball screens this year, but in lieu of his Summer League performance from 3-point range, the second-year forward should look to expand his game outward.

If Collins takes and makes more 3s out of ball screens, he will force opposing forwards and centers to guard him on the perimeter, which will open the lanes up of the likes of Trae Young and Jeremy Lin. If Collins adds an effective spot-up shot with his efficiency around the rim, it will lead to good things for the Hawks on offense.
