Jrue Holiday

At this moment in time, Jrue Holiday may be considered untouchable by the New Orleans Pelicans. Their stance may change throughout the season, however. In the 2018 NBA Playoffs, Holiday was exceptional, locking up Damian Lillard all series long. A backcourt duo of Holiday and Oladipo has the potential of being one of the best defensive tandems in the league.

After losing DeMarcus Cousins this summer, the Pelicans may fall short of what they achieved last season. They may not even be playoff-bound. With that being said, the Pelicans may look to blow their team up if things go south. Freeing themselves of Holiday’s large contract that averages to over $26 million a year is a great place to start.

Last season, Holiday averaged a career-high 19 points per game, shooting a career-high 49.4 percent from the field. In the current NBA, Holiday’s two-way capabilities is a massive plus.
