The Chicago Bulls are a less than a week away from starting the 2018-19 campaign. Here’s a look at three unlikely players who could have a breakout season.

On the heels of a 27-win season in 2017-18, the Chicago Bulls were eager to put the pain of one of their worst seasons in recent memory behind them. They began the offseason with two solid draft selections in Wendell Carter Jr. and Chandler Hutchison.

They opted to retain Zach LaVine by matching a four-year, $78 million offer sheet he received from the Sacramento Kings. Chicago also signed Jabari Parker to a two-year, $40 million deal, with a team option for the second year.

With four preseason games under their belts, defense — as expected — continues to be an issue. However, that should improve somewhat once everyone is familiar with their role at both ends of the floor. A few weeks ago, Hoops Habit contributor James Gilmore discussed the three likely candidates who are expected to have a breakout season.

Today, we will take a look at a few unlikely candidates who may have a breakout season as well.
