After just one year at Oklahoma, a lot of pressure rests on the shoulders of the Atlanta Hawks face of the future. What goals can we expect from Trae Young?

To say that the Atlanta Hawks‘ first pick of the 2018 NBA draft, Trae Young, is polarizing may be the understatement of the season. The organization made a bold statement by trading down for Young instead of staying with international star Luka Doncic, furthering the drastic opinions of the electric point guard.

He could be the next star point guard in the NBA or he could fall flat in an instant. Young is exciting, skillful, a deadly 3-point shooter and a magician in the passing lanes. In his scouting report for Bleacher Report, Jonathan Wasserman had even more praise.

"…tight handles, mean hesitations, roaming vision and passing instincts…"

But despite the praise, Young has a lot of marks against him as well. He was inefficient at times, especially late in the season, for Oklahoma. He is turnover-prone, trying to force it in where he shouldn’t. And many are concerned that he took so many shots in college as well.

Whoever Young is, the Hawks are stuck with him for now. Can he prove the doubters wrong? We’ll find out in just a few short days. Until then, here are five goals that Young can focus on this season.
