3 reasons Cleveland Cavaliers won’t make the 2019 NBA Playoffs
2. The health of Kevin Love
Any optimism surrounding the Cavaliers begins with the belief that Kevin Love can return to the status that made him a star early on in his career with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Now the sole proprietor of Cleveland’s first option offensively, Love will get more of the looks he received in Minnesota, but due to his advancing age and a host of injuries, it won’t automatically equal success for the five-time All-Star.
Entering his age-30 season, Love is coming off three consecutive Finals appearances, and during his four-year stint in the Land, the seemingly in-shape forward has accumulated a host of injuries ranging from multiple concussions and surgery to both his hand and knee.
With a tremendous skill-set both inside and out, Love has the talent to lead these Cavaliers, but if his health is constantly in question, how can the team expect to qualify for the postseason with its leader and best player shuffling from suits to a jersey?
