3. Continue to increase their 3-point shooting proficiency

Considering the current makeup of their roster, one area in which the Raptors can undoubtedly continue to thrive is in their 3-point shooting.

Last season, the Raptors ranked third in 3-point attempts with 33 per game, considerably up from their 24.3 attempts in 2016-17. Leading the way was point guard Kyle Lowry, who averaged 7.6 attempts per game while converting at a 39.9 percent clip.

Close behind was reserve swingman C.J. Miles, who despite averaging just 19.1 minutes per game launched an average of 6.5 attempts per game from deep.

Other rotation players who contributed to the rise from long distance were Serge Ibaka, Fred VanVleet and OG Anunoby, with VanVleet’s 41.4 percent clip representing the best return on the roster.

Additionally, this upcoming season features the incoming duo of Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green. In his last full and healthy season, Leonard converted at a 38.2 percent clip on 5.2 attempts per game.

As for Green, in addition to his career 39.5 shooting percentage from deep, his playoff 3-point shooting return is an astounding 41.4 percent, an incredibly encouraging number considering where the Raptors are expected to finish this season.
